Sindh Government Spokesperson Comments on MQM-P Security Withdrawal and Gul Plaza Recovery Plans

Sindh government spokesperson Saadia Javed has said that there must be reasons behind the withdrawal of security from leaders of MQM-Pakistan.

Speaking on Geo News’ program *Geo Pakistan*, she noted that the city has a shortage of police, which may have prompted the withdrawal of security from MQM-P leaders. She added that she herself does not have police protection, nor do the Sindh government MNAs, indicating that there could be valid reasons for this decision.

On another note, Saadia Javed acknowledged the provincial government’s delay in establishing a forensic lab in Sindh, promising that it would become operational by the end of this year.

Regarding the relocation of Gul Plaza victims, she said there are two plazas in front of the original building where shopkeepers will be shifted. The government is negotiating with the plaza owners; one plaza has 500 shops, while the other has 350.

She added that a committee has been formed to assess the losses caused by the Gul Plaza fire, which the government will compensate. The committee is expected to submit its report on the damages to the government within three weeks.
