Punjab Government Clears 185 km of Snow-Covered Roads in Murree, Traffic Fully Restored

**Islamabad:** Following heavy snowfall in Murree, the Punjab government has successfully cleared 185 kilometers of major and minor roads, restoring traffic flow across most areas of the hill station.

Continuous snowfall for 30 hours had left roads covered with up to two feet of snow. Under the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Snow Clearance Cell worked round the clock, deploying mechanical snow sweepers and heavy-duty bulldozers to break and remove the snow. Salt spreading operations were also conducted to prevent slippery roads.

Provincial Minister Malik Sohail Ahmed, DC Murree, and their teams oversaw the clearance work. Key tourist routes, including Abu Dhabi Road, Pindi Point, and Kashmir Point, were reopened after snow removal. Major routes such as Rawalpindi-Murree-Kashmir Road, Lower Topa to Patriata (15 km), Kohala Bridge to Chinka Gali, and several city roads including Mall Road, Hall Road, Bank Road, and Main Jinnah Road are now fully cleared.

Traffic has also been restored on Mohar Sharif Road, Ghoda Gali Road, Khalid Road, Sunny Bank, Hill Dholon Road, Ghail Dhanda Road, Sarasi Road, and Kashmiri Bazaar. Even Kotla Satiyan and surrounding suburban areas have been cleared, ensuring smooth travel for residents and tourists alike.
