Hotel Fire in Lahore Kills Two, 275 Rescued in Timely Rescue Operation

Lahore: A fire broke out at a local hotel in Lahore’s Gulberg area on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of two people while 275 others were safely rescued due to a swift response by Rescue 1122.

According to hotel management, the deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Imran and 25-year-old Shehryar. At least six people sustained burn injuries in the incident. Rescue officials said seven individuals were rescued from the most affected area of the building.

A hotel employee, identified as Riaz, is still missing, and search and rescue operations are ongoing to locate him. Rescue teams have confirmed that a total of 275 guests and staff members were safely evacuated from the building.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson stated that the fire alert was received at 12:25 pm, following which 27 emergency vehicles were dispatched to the scene. Around 80 rescue personnel took part in the operation.

Rescue authorities confirmed that the fire has been brought under control, while cooling operations inside the building are still in progress. The affected building is a 19-storey plaza spread over four kanals, featuring three basement levels. Basement One was reported to be severely damaged by the fire.

At the time of the incident, a private academy event was underway at the hotel, resulting in a large number of people being present. Due to the fire in the basement, smoke quickly spread to the upper floors, creating panic among guests.

Rescue teams remain engaged in search and rescue efforts inside the hotel, while investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
