National Polio Campaign 2026 to Target Over 45 Million Children, Says Ayesha Raza Farooq

Islamabad: Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, Ayesha Raza Farooq, announced that the first national polio campaign of 2026 will run from February 2 to February 8. The campaign aims to vaccinate over 45 million children across Pakistan.

She stated that more than 400,000 trained polio workers will go door-to-door to administer polio drops to children. Parents were urged to ensure their children receive the drops during every campaign and to fully cooperate with the polio workers.

Ayesha Raza Farooq emphasized that federal and provincial authorities are working in complete coordination to eradicate polio, and the Government of Pakistan remains committed to this goal. She highlighted that public cooperation is crucial for the success of the campaign.

The focal person also called on religious scholars and the media to play an active role in raising awareness about polio, ensuring that protective drops reach every child in the country.
