Lahore Child’s Arm Severed After Pet Lion Attack; Owners Face Legal Action

Lahore: In a shocking incident in Sabzazar, Lahore, an 8-year-old boy, Wajid Ali, had his arm bitten off by a pet lion.
According to the spokesperson for DIG Operations, the attack occurred at a breeding farm where children had wandered close to the lion enclosures. The spokesperson said the incident was caused by improper cages and negligence on the part of the animal owners. Police immediately acted and arrested the owners.
The boy was rushed to the hospital, where doctors amputated his arm to save his life. He has since been transferred to Ganga Ram Hospital for further medical care. A five-member medical board has been formed to oversee his treatment. The hospital’s MS confirmed that the surgery was performed at a private facility and that the child is currently in stable condition.
Following the incident, DIG Operations has ordered strict legal action against the animal owners, who had attempted to hide the incident from authorities. Police intervention prevented any delay in accountability.
