Balochistan Government Urged to Withdraw Decision to Merge Sherani District into Zhob After 20 Years

**Quetta:** Central Chairman of the Mazloom Awami Tehreek Pakistan, Sadiq Khan Achakzai, has called on the Balochistan government to withdraw its decision to merge Sherani district back into Zhob district after two decades, terming the move unjust to the people of Sherani.

He expressed these views during a special meeting at SK House Quetta with a delegation led by Abdullah Sherani, President of the party’s Sherani district chapter. Adviser for Media and Political Affairs Watan Yar Khilji and Irfan Khan Khilji were also present on the occasion.

Sadiq Khan Achakzai strongly condemned the decision, stating that Pashtun districts in the province are already limited in number. He urged the government to create more districts and increase seats in the provincial assembly to better address public issues and improve governance.

He said that reversing Sherani’s district status would deprive local residents of administrative facilities and development opportunities, adding that the decision should be immediately reconsidered in the public interest.

On the occasion, Abdullah Sherani thanked Sadiq Khan Achakzai for expressing solidarity with the people of Sherani district and for announcing full support against what he described as an unfair and unjust decision.
