Balochistan CM Reviews Six-Month Performance of Departments, Orders Strict Action Against Merit Violations and Fake Degrees

**Quetta:** Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the overall six-month performance of provincial departments and the progress of development projects, directing strict action against violations of merit and holders of fake degrees.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister Raheela Hameed Durrani, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, and secretaries of the concerned provincial departments. During the session, the chief minister was briefed on the six-month performance of government departments and the status of ongoing development schemes.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti instructed all departments to ensure full staff attendance and take complete ownership of their respective development projects. He directed departments to establish effective mechanisms for the prompt resolution of public complaints and asked the Law Department to present a draft of the provincial contract policy within two weeks.

The chief minister emphasized that 100 percent merit must be ensured in contractual recruitment within the Education Department and warned that FIRs would be registered against individuals found holding fake degrees. He was also presented with a report on the six-month open courts (Khuli Kacheries) held across the province.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed that summaries related to public interest be dealt with on a priority basis and ordered the complaint cell to be fully activated and widely publicized at the public level. He also distributed appreciation certificates to departmental secretaries whose departments ranked among the top 10 performers in the six-month departmental ranking.

Officials further briefed the meeting on progress made in departmental development projects. The chief minister issued clear instructions that all provincial departments must ensure the completion of development schemes within stipulated timelines, reiterating that no compromise would be made on timely completion. He stressed that development schemes showing no progress so far must be completed within the current fiscal year.

The chief minister also directed the Secretary Social Welfare to expedite all necessary measures for the complete rehabilitation of drug addicts. He ordered strict action against those responsible for violations of building codes, noting that such violations are a major cause of various accidents.

Reaffirming the government’s priorities, Mir Sarfraz Bugti said good governance remains the top agenda of the provincial government, adding that the timely completion of all public-oriented development projects is a foremost priority.
