JUI-F Says Balochistan Government Has Failed to Restore Security After Mastung Attack
QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Balochistan has strongly condemned the killing of District and Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his security guard, Muhammad Zaman, in the recent attack in Mastung, alleging that the provincial government has failed to restore law and order.
In a joint statement, JUI-F Balochistan chief Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey and Provincial General Secretary Agha Mahmood Shah said that no one in Balochistan feels safe anymore and claimed that the province has been left at the mercy of terrorists.
The party leaders said bodies are being recovered on a daily basis across the province and described the Mastung attack as a reminder of the tragic events of August 8, referring to the deadly 2016 bombing in Quetta that targeted the legal community.
They alleged that the provincial government has completely failed to restore peace and is limiting its response to public statements. They also claimed that the policing system has become ineffective, saying that even police personnel are struggling to ensure their own safety.
The JUI-F leaders said that districts including Ziarat, Harnai, Mastung, Khuzdar, and Kalat are facing worsening security conditions, while inter-provincial highways have become unsafe, leaving residents, traders, and transporters living in fear.
They urged the government to take immediate measures to restore law and order, secure highways, and protect the lives and property of citizens, warning that the authorities would bear full responsibility if the situation continues to deteriorate.
The party added that JUI-F Balochistan would not remain silent over the worsening conditions and would continue to raise the concerns of the people of the province at every available forum.
