‘Golmaal’ Actress Rimi Sen Leaves Bollywood Behind, Ventures into Dubai Real Estate

Mumbai: Popular Bollywood actress of the 2000s, Rimi Sen, who gained fame for films like Hungama, Dhoom, Golmaal, Phir Hera Pheri, and Jaani Dushman, has completely stepped away from the film industry. She has now embarked on a career in a completely different field—real estate.

In a recent interview, Rimi revealed that she has started working as a real estate agent in Dubai, calling it a new chapter in her life. She praised the city for being welcoming, diverse, and organized, highlighting that Dubai accommodates people of all communities and religions, with a civic system focused on making life easier, comfortable, and secure.

Rimi also noted the differences between the systems in India and Dubai, pointing out that sudden policy changes in India often disrupt businesses and daily life. In contrast, Dubai’s real estate sector operates in a structured environment where agents, agencies, and developers work within clear boundaries. According to her, agents in Dubai are respected and trusted much like financial advisors—something rarely seen in India.

Reflecting on her film career, Rimi admitted that repeatedly playing comedic roles left her exhausted. She revealed that in many films, her roles were limited to being mere “furniture,” while she wished to portray serious and strong characters. Only in a few films like Hungama and Jaani Dushman did she get the chance to play roles she truly desired, but such opportunities were limited.

Rimi entered Bollywood with the film Hungama in 2003 and quickly rose to prominence. Today, she has left the industry behind and is carving a new identity in Dubai’s real estate sector, where she appears both content and confident in her decision.
