Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Announces Telemedicine Program Across All Districts

**Islamabad:** Punjab Chief Minister **Maryam Nawaz** has announced the launch of a **telemedicine program in every district** of the province, aimed at providing modern and easily accessible healthcare services to the public.
She made the announcement while addressing the **groundbreaking ceremony of a new cardiac cath lab at District Headquarters Hospital Jhang**. Maryam Nawaz emphasized that during emergencies, transferring heart patients to other locations is often challenging, making the establishment of the cath lab at DHQ Jhang a welcome development.
So far, **16 cath labs have been established across Punjab**, and the construction of the **Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital** is in its final stages. The Chief Minister highlighted that Punjab’s hospitals not only serve residents of the province but also patients from other regions, ensuring that no one is denied treatment due to poverty or lack of resources.
She noted that **air ambulances have saved hundreds of lives**, and free treatment is being provided for **organ transplants**. Improvements in **sewage systems through WASA** and cleanliness drives under the **Suthra Punjab program** have enhanced public health in Jhang.
Maryam Nawaz added that **Lahore has become Pakistan’s first medical district**, where the telemedicine program was initially launched, and now the initiative is being expanded across the entire province so that residents of every district can benefit from modern healthcare services.
