Balochistan Accelerates Digital Transformation in Health Sector, Health Leadership Conference 2026 to Review Progress: Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan

**Quetta:** Chief Secretary Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, has announced that efforts to bring a digital revolution to the province’s health sector are being accelerated, with the upcoming Health Leadership Conference 2026 set to review progress on key health indicators and digitization initiatives.

Addressing participants of the conference, Shakeel Qadir Khan said the event aims to enhance monitoring, transparency, and efficiency across health services in Balochistan, building on significant reforms implemented in the past two years. The Chief Secretary highlighted that these reforms focus on digitization, decentralization, and improved service delivery, which are expected to bring substantial improvements to healthcare facilities throughout the province.

He emphasized that serving the public remains the provincial government’s foremost responsibility and noted that multiple initiatives, particularly in healthcare, are being undertaken to ensure citizen welfare. Chief Secretary Khan also pointed out that countries like Bangladesh and Nepal have expressed interest in collaborating with Balochistan’s Health Department.

Through real-time system management, the province is now monitoring doctors’ and staff attendance, medicine availability, and emergency response in hospitals. During the briefing, Health Secretary stated that HISP Pakistan and UNICEF have recognized Balochistan as a national and global model for digital health.
