Police Are the First Line of Defense for Law and Order, Says Chief of Defence Forces

Islamabad: Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has said that the police serve as the first line of defense for maintaining law and order in the country. He also paid tribute to police martyrs for their sacrifices.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Munir visited the National Police Academy, where he was briefed on police training programs and modernization initiatives. During the visit, senior police leadership reaffirmed their commitment to reforms and improving professional standards.

Field Marshal Munir met with officers of the National Police Academy, where he was warmly received by the Commandant and presented with a guard of honor. He also laid flowers and recited Fatiha at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial to honor officers who gave their lives in service.

Addressing senior police officers, he recognized the sacrifices of police personnel and praised their role in combating terrorism and crime. He highlighted the importance of inter-agency cooperation and building public trust.

“The police are the first line of defense in maintaining peace and law in the country,” said Field Marshal Munir. “A strong, professional, and people-friendly police force is essential for internal security and the rule of law. Law enforcement is a sacred trust, and the armed forces will always stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Pakistan’s brave police personnel.”
