PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Advocates Increase in Player Salaries at PSL Governing Council Meeting

Lahore:Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has strongly advocated increasing players’ remuneration during a meeting of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council.
According to sources, Mohsin Naqvi advised team owners to enhance players’ salaries, stating that with the rising market value of PSL franchises, players should also benefit financially.
Sources said the PCB chairman proposed introducing an auction system for players, similar to franchises, suggesting that PSL 11 players be selected through auctions in the draft. He noted that such a system would allow teams to pick players of their choice while ensuring greater financial benefits for players.
Mohsin Naqvi also emphasized providing equal opportunities to the two new teams in selecting players. It was further shared that discussions are expected in the working committee meeting regarding player retentions by existing teams.
The meeting, chaired by Mohsin Naqvi, was attended by representatives of eight franchises, PCB officials, and PSL management. During the session, the owners of the two newly added teams were welcomed, and congratulations were extended on the successful auction of the new franchises.
