12 Terrorists Killed in Failed Bank Robbery Attempt in Kharan; Balochistan to Receive Province-Wide Fiber Internet – CM Sarfraz Bugti

**Quetta:** Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, announced that 12 terrorists were killed in Kharan during a security operation aimed at preventing a planned bank robbery. The terrorists had attempted to loot banks, including breaking ATMs, and had stolen PKR 3.4 million from one bank before being intercepted. The operation was carried out with the significant involvement of the Frontier Corps. One civilian was injured in the incident and is currently under treatment at CMH.

Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, CM Bugti stated that 15 to 20 individuals were involved in the attempted bank raids, which were successfully foiled. He highlighted that terrorists have increasingly been targeting ordinary citizens, attempting to mislead students for their nefarious objectives, and pressuring the Baloch community into a futile conflict. He praised security forces for their courage and emphasized that the state’s doors remain open for terrorists willing to surrender.

Bugti also highlighted that security measures have improved, noting that highways in Balochistan, which used to remain closed for 7–10 days due to unrest, now experience minimal disruption. He reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to merit-based appointments and condemned attempts to exploit local communities.

In a major development for provincial infrastructure, CM Bugti announced plans to provide fiber internet connectivity to all government schools, colleges, universities, and hospitals across Balochistan at an estimated cost of PKR 3 billion. Clearance operations in Kharan continue, and online testing systems are being introduced across the province to modernize public services.

This statement underscores the provincial government’s dual focus on maintaining security and advancing technological and educational infrastructure in Balochistan.
