Common Habits That Increase Risk of Heart Attack

**Islamabad:** Health experts warn that spending excessive time sitting is one of the biggest risk factors for heart disease.

A recent study analyzed data from the Global Burden of Disease, examining physical activity levels and other factors across populations worldwide. The research revealed that staying physically active significantly improves heart health, while prolonged sitting increases the annual death rate from cardiovascular diseases by 0.70%.

During the study, researchers compared data from thousands of active and inactive individuals, finding that physically active people have up to an 83% lower risk of heart attack compared to those who sit for extended periods.

Experts emphasize that sedentary lifestyles are contributing to a growing global burden of heart disease, and the solution is simple: keep your body active.
