Key Progress on Appointment of Opposition Leader as Speaker Ayaz Sadiq Completes Consultations

**Islamabad:** Significant progress has been made regarding the appointment of the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, as Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has completed consultations with assembly officials and constitutional experts.

According to sources, legal and constitutional experts have advised the Speaker to announce the name of Mahmood Khan Achakzai on the floor of the National Assembly. The experts suggested that since the process of appointing the Opposition Leader began within the House, it should also be concluded there.

Sources said there is a unanimous opinion among constitutional experts that the formal announcement of the Opposition Leader should be made on the National Assembly floor to eliminate any constitutional or political ambiguity. They added that if the notification for the appointment is not issued today, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will present his decision and views before the House during the assembly session.

Assembly sources further stated that following the official announcement, Mahmood Khan Achakzai will be invited to address the National Assembly.
