RDMDC Holds Scholarship Award Ceremony for Selected Students in Nokkundi

**Nokkundi:** Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMDC), in collaboration with its Community Development Committees (CDCs), organized a prestigious scholarship award ceremony in Nokkundi to honor students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance.

A total of 53 talented students from Chagai district, including 19 female students, were selected under the RDMDC scholarship program. The fully funded scholarships will enable the students to complete a six-month foundation course at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Sukkur, after which they will be eligible to seek admission to various universities across Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by the students’ parents and members of the local community, who warmly welcomed and appreciated the initiative.

Addressing the gathering, RDMDC Head of Sustainability Ashley Price reaffirmed the company’s commitment, along with the CDCs, to placing community welfare at the heart of development. “Sustainability is ultimately about investing in people. Education lays the foundation for strong and self-reliant communities, and every student present here has earned this opportunity through hard work and dedication. Their success reflects the support of families and communities that believe higher education should be accessible,” he said.

Members of the Community Development Committees from Nokkundi, Humai and Fan Sediments also spoke at the event. They commended RDMDC’s continued efforts for community development and reiterated their resolve to maintain close collaboration with the company for the long-term benefit of local communities.

Certificates were awarded to the scholarship recipients, who will now begin a program aimed at enhancing their academic skills, building confidence and preparing them for admission to universities across the country.

Congratulating the students, RDMDC General Manager Ryan Mitchell said, “Your success is not only personal; it represents the success of your communities and the entire region. With this opportunity comes the responsibility to contribute positively to the betterment of your communities.” He also praised the leadership of CDC members for aligning RDMDC’s community initiatives with local needs.

RDMDC places inclusive and sustainable development at the core of its priorities, with education as a key pillar. The scholarship program is one of several initiatives being implemented in partnership with local CDCs, ranging from support for early education to scholarships for deserving students from Balochistan who are already pursuing higher education.
