Lahore: Pakistan’s celebrated singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam are among the country’s most popular music stars, known for their stellar performances not only at concerts but also at luxurious private events and weddings. Both artists have also sung numerous superhit songs for the Indian film industry, earning them international fame.

They have performed at the weddings of several high-profile personalities, often making headlines due to their hefty fees. Recently, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam performed at the wedding of Ayesha Talpur, daughter of Faryal Talpur, an event that drew significant attention on social media. The singers presented their famous songs on special request, making the occasion memorable for guests.

Senior anchor Naeem Hanif recently revealed on a program the approximate fees these artists command for wedding performances. According to him, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan charges around PKR 12.5 million for a wedding performance in Pakistan. Fees increase for performances in other cities, and double for international events.

Atif Aslam, who initially did not perform at weddings, was first offered a performance opportunity by Malik Riaz at his grandson’s wedding about seven years ago. Atif Aslam initially demanded PKR 15 million, which was paid. Since then, he has been charging approximately PKR 25–30 million per event for wedding performances.

Renowned Sufi singer Abida Parveen generally does not perform at events due to health reasons. However, when she does, her fee ranges between $60,000 to $70,000 per performance. Naeem Hanif estimated that the total cost of music performances at the recent wedding exceeded PKR 70 million.
