Indian Actress Taapsee Pannu Exposes the Dark Reality of Bollywood

Mumbai: Indian actress Taapsee Pannu has lifted the veil on what she described as the darker side of Bollywood, openly criticizing the growing influence of public relations (PR) machinery within the film industry.
In a recent interview, the 38-year-old actress spoke candidly about the behind-the-scenes workings of the industry and expressed concern over how PR strategies are increasingly being misused. Taapsee revealed that she deliberately reduced her workload over the past few years, which allowed her to closely observe how the system operates.
According to the actress, PR activities were once mainly focused on promoting one’s own films or professional work. However, she said the situation has changed significantly. “Today, some people are not only spending money to highlight themselves but are also running negative campaigns to bring others down,” she stated.
Taapsee questioned the mindset behind linking one person’s success to another’s downfall, adding that several artists are creating artificial public images just to stay in the news, rather than letting their work speak for itself.
She further clarified that she prefers spending her earnings on herself and her loved ones, instead of investing in negative PR or planting malicious stories against others.
It is worth noting that Taapsee Pannu was recently seen in Mudassar Aziz’s film “Khel Khel Mein”, and she is set to appear next in the revenge drama “Gandhari”, directed by Devashish Makhija.
