Archana Puran Singh Diagnosed with Rare Neurological Disorder, Doctors Reveal Shocking Details

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Archana Puran Singh has been diagnosed with a rare medical condition known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a disorder that causes severe and long-lasting nerve pain.

The revelation about her health was made by her son Ayushmann Sethi, who shared a video on Instagram detailing his mother’s condition. According to him, Archana developed CRPS in 2025 after suffering a wrist injury during the shooting of the film “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.” The condition has since caused permanent damage to her hand.

Despite enduring intense pain, Ayushmann said his mother continued working in films and web series and even launched her own YouTube channel at the age of 60.

What is CRPS?
Medical experts explain that Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is a chronic neurological pain disorder in which pain persists and becomes far more severe than normal following an injury, even after the wound has healed. Doctors say the nervous system fails to properly regulate pain signals, causing the brain and spinal cord to continuously amplify pain messages.

Symptoms of CRPS include burning or stabbing pain, extreme sensitivity to touch or temperature changes, swelling, changes in skin color, excessive sweating, stiffness, and weakness in the affected limb.

Doctors have clarified that while CRPS is not life-threatening, it is a life-altering condition. They stress the importance of awareness and early diagnosis so patients can receive timely treatment and better manage the disease.
