Court Extends Remand of Suspect in TikToker Samia Hijab Case by Three Days

Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad has extended the physical remand of Hassan Zahid, accused of allegedly abducting and threatening TikToker Samia Hijab, by three more days.
Duty Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Azhar Nadeem heard the case, during which the defense lawyer presented transaction history between the suspect and the complainant. The lawyer argued that the suspect’s initial remand was for two days, but he was produced after five days. Police responded that the earlier remand order contained a “typing error,” which was corrected immediately.
The defense also claimed that Hassan Zahid and Samia Hijab were engaged, submitting their engagement photos and a video statement of Samia’s parents to the court.
Prosecution told the court that Rs45,000 had been recovered from the suspect, and further investigation was required to recover a vehicle, weapon, and arrest accomplices. They requested an additional eight-day remand.
The defense countered that Zahid was deliberately arrested in a second case after securing bail in another. They claimed he was at Jinnah Super Market at the time of the alleged incident and that when he demanded repayment from Samia, he was given fake receipts.
A case against Hassan Zahid has been registered at Shalimar Police Station.
