According to the Chinese Ministry, 6.106 million marriages were registered in 2024, marking a 20% decline compared to the previous year. This trend has left many parents increasingly worried, prompting them to explore unconventional ways to encourage marriage.

Multiple media reports indicate that AI-generated videos are circulating on Chinese social media platforms like Douyin (the Chinese version of TikTok) and Weibo. These videos often depict elderly individuals expressing regret for not following their parents’ advice and postponing marriage during their youth, aiming to persuade younger generations to tie the knot.
