Quetta Launches Modern Training Program for Former Levies Personnel; 772 Recruits Ready to Join Police Force

*Quetta:* A modern training program for former Levies personnel has commenced at the Police Training College (PTC) in Quetta, aiming to enhance professional policing standards across Balochistan. The initiative ensures that policing goes beyond law enforcement to include professionalism, transparency, accountability, and public service.
The training college has upgraded residential and basic facilities, providing a conducive environment for learning. Currently, 772 former Levies personnel from various districts of Balochistan are participating in the residential training program, which began on January 1, 2026, and will last three months.
During the program, trainees are being instructed in physical fitness, weapon handling, marksmanship, and counter-terrorism operations. The main objective is to ensure uniform protection of citizens’ lives and property, effective crime prevention, and strengthening trust between the police and the public across all districts.
Professional training also emphasizes investigative skills, legal awareness, and community-oriented policing. Trainees are taught to interact with citizens respectfully, impartially, and fairly while enforcing the law uniformly. Intelligence-based policing and community engagement are integral parts of the curriculum.
To support the trainees, residential blocks have been modernized for comfort and safety, and dining facilities in existing and newly constructed mess halls provide hygienic and nutritious meals. A modern futsal ground and improved parade grounds have been established to support physical training, while fountains have been installed to enhance cleanliness and the overall environment.
Commandant PTC, Shehzad Akbar, stated that these measures aim to improve the quality of life and professional skills of former Levies personnel, preparing them to effectively serve in the Balochistan Police, uphold law and order, and contribute to public safety. He added that efforts to modernize the Police Training College will continue in the future.
