Pink and Green Bus Services Expanded in Quetta, People’s Train Service to Launch Soon

Quetta:Secretary of the Balochistan Transport Department, Hayat Khan Kakar, has said that 21 new buses under the Pink and Green Bus Service Project have arrived in Quetta, including five Pink Buses exclusively allocated for women. He also announced that the People’s Train Service will be launched soon.
Talking to the media at the Agriculture College Quetta, Hayat Khan Kakar said that previously men and women traveled together on the Green Bus Service, but to provide safer and more convenient travel facilities for women, the Pink Bus Service has been introduced. He said the Pink Bus Service will operate from Bileli to the University of Balochistan via Sariab.
He added that female staff will be deployed to collect fares on the Pink Buses, and efforts are underway to appoint female drivers as well. According to him, more than 10,000 passengers are expected to travel daily on the Green and Pink bus services.
The secretary said that routes for both Green and Pink bus services have already been notified, and the Pink Bus Service will be further expanded in the future. He noted that routes will be designed keeping passenger needs in mind.
Hayat Khan Kakar further announced that Green and Pink Bus Services will also be launched in Turbat, Gwadar, Khuzdar, Dera Bugti, and Sui. Separate waiting points for men and women will be established at bus stops.
He also informed that the People’s Train Service in Quetta will be inaugurated soon, with the train operating from Sariab to Kuchlak.
