Imran Khan Is Highly Frustrated in Jail, Says Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza

Jhelum:Religious scholar Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is extremely frustrated in jail, adding that frustration is not unusual for someone who has spent nearly two years behind bars.

Speaking on Geo News program *“Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath,”* Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza shared details about the conditions inside Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. He said that Imran Khan does not enjoy “palace-like” facilities in jail; however, he does have access to news from outside and receives two newspapers daily.

The scholar further revealed that Imran Khan’s prison room is equipped with an LED television and that he has been allotted six prison cells (chakkis) for accommodation. Out of these, five are used by Imran Khan himself, while the sixth is occupied by his assistant (mashaqati).

According to Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza, the PTI founder would come out of his cell twice a day—once at 9:00 am for breakfast and again at 3:00 pm for lunch. He added that Khan’s assistant used to prepare food with desi ghee, the aroma of which could be sensed by others nearby.

He also stated that when Imran Khan became angry, he would speak loudly and continuously. “He is very frustrated in jail, but feeling frustrated after spending two years in prison is not an unusual thing,” Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza remarked.
