Gold Prices Surge in Pakistan on Second Day of New Year, Hitting Citizens Hard

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** After four consecutive days of decline, gold prices in Pakistan saw a sharp rise today, with per tola gold increasing by PKR 5,700.

On the fifth business day of the week, both global and local markets recorded significant gains in gold prices. In local bullion markets, the price of 24-carat gold per tola rose by PKR 5,700, reaching PKR 460,262. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by PKR 4,887, bringing it to PKR 394,600.

Market sources attributed the surge to rising global gold rates. Alongside gold, silver prices also increased, with per tola silver rising by PKR 227 to PKR 7,862, and per 10 grams silver increasing by PKR 195 to PKR 6,740.

In the international market, gold prices rose by $57 per ounce, reaching $4,379. The rise in precious metal prices has had an immediate impact on investors and ordinary citizens alike.
