Punjab Highway Department Issues Alert Ahead of Expected Snowfall in Murree and Galyat

**Islamabad:** The Punjab Highway Department has issued an alert ahead of anticipated snowfall in Murree and the Galyat region. Provincial Minister Malik Saheb Ahmed Bhurth instructed the department to remain on full alert, ensure snow removal machinery is operational at all times, and conduct timely salting of roads to maintain safe driving conditions.

Authorities have supplied 29,000 salt bags to storage facilities and established multiple salt camps across the region. In Murree, two main salt camps have been set up, while additional camps are operational at Koltana Chowk, BHU Kali Mati, and Lawrence College Road. Salt containers are also placed at key points including Koltana Chowk, Banshara Gali, Rescue 1122 Bypass, Card Road, and GPO Chowk.

Highway Department staff have been instructed to remain in the field continuously, ensuring the uninterrupted supply of salt during snowfall. Malik Saheb Ahmed Bhurth further stated that 13 facilitation centers have been established in Murree to assist tourists and local residents. Road traffic on Murree and Galyat highways will be maintained at all costs to ensure public safety and accessibility.
