Fugitive Inmate Commits Suicide in Karachi, Identified as Malir Jail Escapee

The mystery surrounding a body found hanging in a house in Karachi’s Mauripur area has been resolved, as police confirmed the deceased was a fugitive prisoner from Malir Jail.

According to authorities, the individual has been identified as *Raza*, who was previously imprisoned in a drug-related case registered at the Eidgah Police Station on March 30, 2022. Raza had escaped from Malir Jail just a few days ago during a mass breakout.

Police stated that Raza had been in hiding since his escape and was found dead by hanging in a house in Mauripur.

It is worth noting that the jailbreak occurred during tremors felt in Karachi a few days ago, when over **214 inmates** managed to flee from Malir Jail. So far, **119 escapees** have been recaptured and returned to custody, while **95 remain at large**.

In a surprising development, police revealed that many of the escaped prisoners were brought back to jail by their own families.
