Gas Supply Suspended in Quetta from Midnight to Morning, Patients and Residents Suffer Amid Severe Cold

**Quetta:** The suspension of gas supply from midnight to 5:00 a.m. in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan has caused severe hardship for residents, with hospital patients among the worst affected as freezing temperatures grip the region.
According to details, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has continued gas load management across Balochistan despite the peak winter season. Gas supply is shut down at 12:00 a.m. and restored only at 5:00 a.m., creating serious difficulties for citizens who rely on gas for heating during the coldest hours of the night.
The situation has become particularly distressing in hospitals, where admitted patients and their attendants are forced to endure extreme cold during the night due to the lack of gas supply. Many patients have reportedly been left shivering, adding to their physical discomfort and medical complications.
Despite growing public concern, the provincial government, elected representatives, and Sui gas authorities have remained silent on the issue. Citizens have criticized the authorities for failing to address the suffering of the public, especially vulnerable patients in hospitals.
Residents have urged the government and gas authorities to immediately review the load management policy during winter and ensure uninterrupted gas supply, at least to hospitals and essential facilities, to prevent further hardship.
