Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Holds Key Meeting with UAE President in Rahim Yar Khan

**Islamabad:** Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Rahim Yar Khan on Monday, where he held an important meeting with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar were also present during the meeting. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting took place at the Sheikh Zayed Palace in Rahim Yar Khan.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed their previous interaction held in Islamabad on December 26 and discussed the overall state of bilateral relations. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to elevating long-standing ties with the UAE to a more strategic and mutually beneficial partnership.

The prime minister also reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further strengthen economic cooperation with the UAE and stressed the need to increase the volume of bilateral trade. Both sides agreed to expand cooperation in key sectors, including information technology, energy, minerals, and defense.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s leadership and commended the UAE’s remarkable development under his guidance. He also appreciated the contributions of the 2.1 million Pakistanis living in the UAE to the host country’s progress and to bilateral relations.

In addition to bilateral ties, the two leaders exchanged views on other important matters of mutual interest. The meeting marked the conclusion of a year of active diplomatic engagements between Pakistan and the UAE.

It is worth noting that UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Pakistan on December 26 and has since been staying in Rahim Yar Khan on a private hunting trip. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar had earlier confirmed this during a press briefing on December 27.
