Hundreds of Afghan Nationals Held in Crackdown Against Illegal Residents in Karachi, Rawalpindi

Karachi/Rawalpindi:** Law enforcement agencies have detained hundreds of Afghan nationals during operations against illegal residents in different parts of Karachi and Rawalpindi.
According to SSP City **Arif Aziz**, 98 Afghan nationals residing illegally were taken into custody during an operation in Karachi’s Old City Area. In addition, 61 suspects were arrested for violations of the Residence Act.
In a separate action in the Sohrab Goth locality of Karachi, more than 20 Afghan nationals were detained and shifted to a local police station. Similarly, four Afghan nationals were taken into custody from various areas of Defence for illegal residence.
Meanwhile, authorities in Rawalpindi also carried out operations against undocumented foreign nationals. During the crackdown, 40 Afghan citizens residing illegally were arrested and transferred to a holding camp.
Officials said the operations are part of an ongoing drive to identify and take action against individuals staying in the country without valid documentation.
