Balochistan Bar Council Supports Employee “Pen-Down” Strike, Cites 7,000 Billion Corruption Amid Governance Failures

Quetta – Rahib Khan Baledi, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Baloch Bar Council, has voiced full support for the legitimate demands of the Balochistan Grand Alliance of government employees, highlighting the province’s severe governance crisis and widespread corruption.

In a statement, Baledi said that government employees are protesting due to the provincial government’s failure to address their issues. He criticized the current administration for mismanagement, nepotism, lawlessness, and allowing corruption to reach unprecedented levels. According to recent reports, corruption in the government has amounted to 7,000 billion PKR, while inflation and unemployment have surged, leaving both employees and the general public in distress.

He emphasized that despite promises made by provincial ministers to resolve employee grievances through negotiations, the issues remain unaddressed, prompting the ongoing pen-down strike. Baledi reaffirmed that the Balochistan Bar Council stands firmly with the employees and fully supports their protest and demands for immediate resolution.
