Crackdown on Illegal Rickshaws Continues in Quetta Under Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat’s Directive

Quetta:On the special directives of **Commissioner and Chairman Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Quetta Division, Hamza Shafqaat**, an ongoing operation against **illegal rickshaws** is being carried out across the city to improve urban mobility and enforce traffic laws.

As part of this campaign, a **snap checking operation** was conducted at **Kohla Phatak** under the supervision of **RTA Secretary Ali Durrani** and **SP Traffic (Saddar Circle)**. During the inspection, **10 rickshaws without valid permits** were impounded under **Section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance**.

In addition, **40 rickshaw drivers were issued challans** for various violations of traffic rules, reflecting a zero-tolerance approach towards unregulated and illegal public transport operations in Quetta.

The joint efforts of the **Regional Transport Authority and Traffic Police** aim to curb the growing number of unregistered rickshaws and ensure compliance with traffic regulations for the safety and convenience of citizens.

Authorities have announced that the **crackdown will continue**, and strict legal action will be taken against any vehicle found operating without proper documentation or in violation of the law.
