Bloody Roads: 24,351 Traffic Accidents Claim 415 Lives in Balochistan in 2025

Bela – Balochistan witnessed a tragic rise in road accidents in 2025, with 24,351 incidents reported, resulting in 415 deaths and 30,415 injuries, according to the annual report of Rescue 1122. The majority of accidents occurred on National Highway N-25, highlighting the dangerous conditions of the province’s road infrastructure.

Rescue 1122 Director Amir Bakhsh attributed the high number of accidents to the dilapidated state of highways, particularly the N-25 Chaman to Karachi RCD route, which remains hazardous for travelers. Public concerns over road safety have intensified, with many citizens pointing to both poor road conditions and driver negligence as major factors contributing to the high casualty rate.

The report stresses the urgent need for the Balochistan government and the National Highway Authority to implement concrete measures to improve road safety, repair damaged highways, and provide secure travel routes for residents. Authorities have been urged to ensure safer journeys and reduce the increasing number of traffic-related fatalities and injuries across the province.

The 2025 statistics underscore the pressing need for infrastructure improvements and stricter traffic safety enforcement to prevent further loss of life in Balochistan.
