Khawaja Asif Criticizes Suhail Afridi, Voices Concern Over Erosion of Respect for Constitutional Offices

Islamabad – Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has issued a strong statement criticizing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi, expressing concern over what he described as repeated actions undermining the dignity of constitutional offices and inter-provincial respect.

In a message posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Khawaja Asif alleged that under the leadership of Suhail Afridi, repeated attacks were carried out on the federal capital, which he said had adversely affected the sanctity of constitutional positions and harmony between provinces.

The defence minister further stated that the leadership of Suhail Afridi’s party has repeatedly targeted the unity of Pakistan. He also accused party workers of using highly inappropriate and abusive language on social media with the alleged patronage of their leadership.

Khawaja Asif warned that such conduct is harmful to constitutional institutions and erodes public trust. He emphasized that irresponsible political behavior and the use of offensive language weaken democratic norms and damage the credibility of state institutions.

Calling for collective action, the defence minister urged all stakeholders to strongly condemn such behavior and take steps to prevent it. He stressed the need to restore respect for constitutional offices and inter-provincial harmony, and to promote decency, discipline, and civility in national politics.
