Five Militants Killed in Bajaur Security Operation, Army Major Martyred

Rawalpindi – Security forces killed five Indian-sponsored militants during a successful intelligence-based operation in Bajaur, while an army major embraced martyrdom after being hit by terrorist fire, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.

According to ISPR, the operation was conducted on December 29 in the Khar area of Bajaur district following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants linked to the Indian proxy outfit *Fitna al-Khawarij*.

During the operation, security forces engaged the militants effectively, resulting in the elimination of five terrorists operating under Indian patronage. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed militants.

ISPR stated that during an intense exchange of fire, Major Adil Zaman was martyred while leading his troops from the front with exceptional bravery.

The statement added that the eliminated terrorists were involved in multiple terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and the killing of innocent civilians. A clearance operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored militants.

ISPR further reaffirmed that under the vision of *Azm-e-Istehkam*, approved by the Federal Apex Committee as part of the National Action Plan, security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their relentless counterterrorism operations to completely eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
