England Suffer Another Blow as Gus Atkinson Ruled Out of Ashes Series Due to Injury

England’s cricket team has been dealt another setback as fast bowler Gus Atkinson has been ruled out of the remainder of the Ashes series after being sidelined with an injury.

According to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Atkinson has suffered a left hamstring injury. He left the field after the fifth over of Australia’s second innings during the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

It is worth noting that England secured a victory in the fourth Test of the Ashes series at the MCG. However, the ECB has confirmed that no replacement will be called up for Atkinson ahead of the fifth Test.

The fifth and final Test of the Ashes series is scheduled to begin on January 4 in Sydney. Australia currently lead the five-match series 3–1.

Earlier, England fast bowlers Mark Wood and Jofra Archer were also ruled out of the Ashes series due to injuries, further depleting England’s pace attack.
