Trump Says Diplomatic Efforts to End Ukraine War Enter Final Stage

Washington:US President Donald Trump has said that diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine have entered their final stage. He made the remarks during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, where the two leaders discussed a new peace plan.
According to AFP, President Trump stated, “We are in the final stages of talks. Now we will see what happens; otherwise, this war could continue for a long time.” He clarified that no final deadline has been set for the peace process.
The US president also revealed that prior to meeting President Zelensky, he held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom he described as being “very serious” about pursuing peace. Trump added that a strong agreement would be put in place to guarantee Ukraine’s security, with the involvement of European countries as well.
