This Alliance Is Divinely Established,” Tahir Ashrafi Responds to Critics of ‘Mullah–Military Alliance

Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, has said that those questioning the so-called “mullah–military alliance” should understand that this alliance has been naturally established by Allah.
Addressing a press conference in Jhang, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that under the current circumstances, Pakistan needs internal stability more than anything else. He stressed that critics of the mullah–military alliance must realize that this unity is divinely ordained.
He said the success achieved in Operation *Bunyan-un-Marsoos* is historic and will be remembered by historians for centuries to come. According to him, the world has long witnessed missile attacks on Islamic countries, but this was the first time that Pakistani missiles were seen heading towards India at the global level.

Speaking on terrorism, the Pakistan Ulema Council chairman claimed that nearly 70 percent of terrorist attacks in Pakistan involve Afghan nationals. He added that the Pakistan Army and the entire nation will jointly eliminate terrorism, and if Pakistan can defeat a country six times its size, overcoming terrorism is not impossible.
Commenting on the political situation, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that the offer of dialogue extended by the Prime Minister to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should be accepted. He also stated that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has been an ally of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the past and political cooperation is likely to continue in the future as well.
