Peanuts are rich in protein, healthy fats, fiber, and several essential nutrients. The healthy fats present in peanuts help reduce levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) in the body. In addition, they contain beneficial minerals such as magnesium, folic acid, copper, and arginine.
Nutritionists say that due to their balanced nutritional profile, peanuts can be included in the daily diet. However, the recommended portion is only a small handful per day. When consumed in the form of peanut butter, two tablespoons spread on a slice of bread per day are considered an appropriate and healthy amount.
Experts suggest that the best time to eat peanuts is in the evening as a light snack. Consuming them at this time helps control hunger and provides sustained energy to the body.
