UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Arrives in Pakistan on First Official Visit; Warm Welcome, Aerial Salute, and Guard of Honor Presented

Islamabad: At the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Pakistan on his first official visit.
The UAE president received a grand and historic welcome upon entering Pakistani airspace, where Pakistan Air Force fighter jets escorted his aircraft and presented an aerial salute.
Upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, and federal ministers warmly received the esteemed guest. President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was also accorded a 21-gun salute and a Guard of Honor.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office stated that the UAE president is accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers and senior officials. During the visit, both sides will discuss bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues of mutual interest.
The spokesperson highlighted that the visit reflects the long-standing, brotherly, and enduring ties between Pakistan and the UAE and will further strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, energy, development, and regional stability.
During the visit, the UAE president is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and other senior dignitaries.
In connection with the visit, a public holiday was announced in Islamabad. The Islamabad High Court also declared a holiday, with both the High Court and District Courts remaining closed on December 26, 2025, as per the Registrar’s notification.
