149th Birth Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Observed with Dignity at Mazar-e-Quaid

Karachi: The 149th birth anniversary of the Founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, is being observed across the country today with devotion and respect. A dignified changing of guards ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, where a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Military Academy assumed guard duties, reflecting discipline and solemnity while paying tribute to the Father of the Nation.

A public holiday has been declared nationwide on the occasion, and a large number of people are expected to visit Mazar-e-Quaid throughout the day to offer Fateha and pay homage. Citizens began arriving at the mausoleum early in the morning to remember Quaid-e-Azam’s vision and historic struggle that secured a separate national identity and an independent homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

During the ceremonies, the leadership of the armed forces also paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, acknowledging his invaluable services and sacrifices.

On the occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif issued separate messages, paying glowing tributes to Quaid-e-Azam. President Zardari said that Quaid-e-Azam was a strong proponent of democracy, justice, and equality, adding that these values remain central to Pakistan’s national journey. He emphasized that Quaid’s principles are still essential for the country’s progress, social harmony, and national confidence.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, said that Quaid-e-Azam’s golden principles of Faith, Unity, and Discipline are not only a guarantee of a bright national future but also provide clear guidance for coming generations. He added that solutions to the challenges facing the nation lie in following the vision and teachings of Quaid-e-Azam.

Across the country, various ceremonies, seminars, and prayer gatherings are also being held to commemorate the life, struggle, and national services of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, while reaffirming the resolve to build Pakistan into a strong, just, and prosperous state in line with his vision.
