Husband Murder Case: Wife Sentenced to Life Imprisonment, Lover Awarded Death Penalty

Rawalpindi: An Additional District and Sessions Court in Rawalpindi has sentenced a woman to life imprisonment and her accomplice to death in a case involving the murder of her husband.

The verdict was announced by Judge Nadia Akram Malik. The court sentenced the wife, Saniyah, to life imprisonment along with a fine of Rs400,000, while her accomplice and lover, Junaid Bhatti, was awarded the death penalty along with a compensation amount of Rs400,000.

In addition, the court sentenced the accused wife to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs10,000 for destroying evidence, and another seven years’ imprisonment with a fine of Rs10,000 for conspiracy and involvement in the murder. Junaid Bhatti was also sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment and fined Rs10,000 for illegally entering the house.

The court ordered that the convict Junaid Bhatti be hanged until death.

According to police, the case was registered by Saddarabad Police Station on April 27, 2025. Following the verdict, both convicts—the wife and her accomplice—were shifted to Adiala Jail.
