Awais Leghari Hails PIA Privatization as Sign of Economic Revival

Islamabad:Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari has termed the successful bid by the Arif Habib Consortium for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as a strong symbol of economic recovery and renewed investor confidence in Pakistan.
In a statement, Awais Leghari said that the successful bid of Rs135 billion reflects growing trust among investors in the country’s economy. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a historic phase of privatization has been completed.
The federal minister highlighted the efforts of Privatization Adviser Muhammad Ali and said that the guidance of the Field Marshal proved crucial in the successful privatization of PIA. He noted that this development is clear evidence of increasing confidence of the global community in Pakistan.
Awais Leghari further stated that the privatization of PIA demonstrates confidence in the government’s reform agenda and transparent policies. According to him, the successful bidding process is a positive indicator of Pakistan’s progress toward economic stability and long-term financial strength.
