Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Rejects Comparisons Between Pakistan’s Afghan Border Operations and India’s Bahawalpur Attacks

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that comparing Pakistan’s operations against banned TTP terrorist camps along the Afghan border with India’s unlawful attacks on mosques and madrasas in Bahawalpur and Narowal is completely incorrect.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Khawaja Asif emphasized that the international community and the United Nations are also concerned about terrorism under the shadow of the Afghan Taliban. He noted that the presence of terrorist formations infiltrating Pakistan from Afghanistan daily serves as clear evidence of the threat.

The Defence Minister highlighted that India has yet to provide evidence regarding the Pulwama incident, while Pakistan had offered impartial investigations. He added that UN reports confirm India’s aggression was unlawful and unsubstantiated, and Pakistan’s response was fully legitimate.

Khawaja Asif also noted that Pakistan has consistently addressed any doubts raised by India, its proxies, and supporters regarding its counter-terrorism actions.

His remarks underscore Pakistan’s stance that its defensive operations along the Afghan border are legal, evidence-based, and aimed at national security, in contrast to India’s unverified cross-border attacks.
