Railways’ Neglect of Balochistan: Akbar Bugti Express Remains Suspended, Jafar Express Becomes Country’s Most Expensive Train

**Sibi (Qudrat Daily):**
Residents of Balochistan have expressed frustration over Pakistan Railways’ continued neglect of the province, calling it worse than stepmotherly treatment. The Bolan Mail now operates only twice a week, the Harnai Passenger remains suspended, and promises to restore the Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti Express have yet to materialize. Meanwhile, the Jafar Express has become the most expensive train service in the country.
Locals and political and social circles have demanded that the Chiltan Express be restored, Bolan Mail run daily, and fares for the Jafar Express reduced to provide affordable travel for the public. They emphasized that these suspended train services, including the route from Dera Ghazi Khan via Jacobabad, must be revived promptly.
Advocates highlighted that despite prior government assurances to revive the Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti Express, the commitment remains unfulfilled. They urged the Federal Minister for Railways to take immediate action to restore all suspended passenger trains and ensure cost-effective rail services for the people of Balochistan and southern Punjab.
