Imran Khan May Be Shifted to High-Security Jail in Sahiwal, Claims Ajmal Jami

Lahore: Senior anchorperson Ajmal Jami has claimed that there are considerations to transfer Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan to a high-security jail in Sahiwal.
In his vlog, Ajmal Jami said that following protests and sit-ins outside Adiala Jail, authorities are reportedly thinking about shifting Imran Khan to Sahiwal. He explained that Sahiwal has two adjacent prison facilities: a Central Jail and a separate High Security Prison (HSP), which houses high-profile and highly sensitive inmates.
According to Jami, the high-security prison was built during the British era and consists of individual cells. Renowned poet and revolutionary Faiz Ahmed Faiz, along with several other prominent figures, was once imprisoned there. Currently, the facility reportedly holds inmates who are wanted at national and international levels, including some who have gained global notoriety.
He further stated that the high-security prison operates under an entirely separate system from the Central Jail, with its own superintendent, and that staff from one facility are not permitted to enter the other.
Ajmal Jami added that due to its high-security status, mobile phone signals and internet services do not function within the prison premises. He claimed to have personally passed through the area and said this information is based on his own observation.
