Balochistan High Court Halts Recruitment Process in Provincial Assembly

**Quetta:** The Balochistan High Court has suspended the ongoing recruitment process in the Balochistan Assembly, following a legal challenge regarding the advertisement of vacant positions without referral to the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC).
On Wednesday, an constitutional petition was filed by Advocate Salman Sanjrani, along with fellow lawyers Mubashir Khan Kakr and Shaharyar Ali. The petition argued that the Assembly’s decision to advertise vacancies without BPSC approval violates the Constitution and established laws. It further stated that this process undermines transparency and merit-based principles, prompting the petitioners to seek judicial intervention.
A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Muhammad Kamran Khan Malakhel and Justice Najmuddin Mengal accepted the petition for hearing and issued notices to the concerned parties. The court also ordered a stay on all recruitment and appointments in the Assembly until a final decision is made.
