Balochistan Signs Landmark Agreement for Digitalization of Land Records: CM Sarfraz Bugti

Quetta: The Government of Balochistan has signed a historic agreement with the Land Information Management System (LIMS) to digitize land records across the province, marking a major step toward transparency and good governance.

The agreement was signed at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta during a simple yet dignified ceremony. On behalf of the Balochistan government, Senior Member Board of Revenue Qambar Dashti signed the accord, while the CEO of LIMS signed on behalf of the organization.

During the briefing, officials stated that in the first phase, land records of 25 districts of Balochistan will be computerized using a Geographic Information System (GIS).

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti termed the digitalization of land records a decisive and historic milestone in the province’s history. He said the initiative would significantly reduce land disputes, curb corruption, and provide citizens with efficient facilities for land verification and transfer.

The chief minister emphasized that sustainable development is not possible without transparency in land records, adding that the digital system would strengthen good governance. He reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring the project’s implementation within the stipulated timeframe and according to high standards.

CM Bugti said the Balochistan government is determined to put the province on the path of development through reforms, transparency, and the use of modern technology.
