KP Government Backs Down After Governor’s Rule Threat, Claims Sher Afzal Marwat

Islamabad:Member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat has claimed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has understood the seriousness of the threat of governor’s rule, forcing Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to focus on political survival.

Speaking on the program *Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath*, Sher Afzal Marwat said that Sohail Afridi has started accommodating the federal government’s demands. He alleged that PTI founder Imran Khan was not even informed about changes in party policy, adding that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has now practically come under the control of Aleema Khan.

Meanwhile, Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan leader Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar downplayed reports of internal rifts within PTI, saying that the differences are not significant enough to disturb the party’s overall policy direction.

He clarified that the PTI founder has instructed that all major decisions should be taken in consultation with Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas. Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar emphasized that the opposition does not want street protests but prefers dialogue. He added that Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas would work with other political parties and civil society to develop a consensus-based strategy.
